Due to the spread of the CoV variant first detected in South Africa, Italy is tightening rules for entries from Austria. Travelers from Austria to Italy must undergo a coronavirus test and quarantine. This is provided for in a new decree issued by Health Minister Roberto Speranza. With this, Italy wants to limit the spread of the virus mutations.
“The fight against the pandemic continues. Because of the spread of viral mutations, the utmost prudence is required,” Speranza wrote on Facebook today.
The minister extended a decree banning Brazilians from entering Italy. Only Italian citizens in Brazil can return to Italy. Before leaving and after arriving in Italy, they must undergo a test. This is followed by a two-week quarantine and another test.
